The Anat Baniel Method International Trainers are all highly experienced and successful practitioners of the method and have been a part of the Anat Baniel Method Training staff for an extended period of time. The assistant trainers are also highly experienced practitioners and are being trained to become trainers. Anat Baniel – Master Trainer
Anat Baniel, founder of the Anat Baniel Method® and NeuroMovement®, is the author of two highly acclaimed books, Move Into Life: NeuroMovement for Lifelong Vitality and Kids Beyond Limits. Anat was trained as a clinical psychologist, dancer, and was first a student, then a close professional associate of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais for over a decade. Anat’s innovative methods have helped thousands of people, both adults and children, from five days to 90 years old, transforming their lives physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Her work has helped high performance athletes, musicians, business people, scientists, and other professionals move beyond their present limitations to achieve greater energy, strength, health and success. Her cutting-edge approach has helped thousands of people suffering from aches and pains, those worn down by daily stress, and those seeking greater joy and effectiveness in their lives.
Anat’s work with children with special needs is world-renown, applauded by parents, health professionals, and those at the cutting edge of the neurosciences. Increasing numbers of leading brain scientists, medical doctors, and others in the helping professions are enthusiastically endorsing the Anat Baniel Method. Anat has been training practitioners for over 20 years, first as Feldenkrais practitioners, and in the past 12 years, she has been graduating highly effective practitioners in her Anat Baniel Method.
Marcy Lindheimer – Senior Trainer
Marcy Lindheimer has been teaching in the Anat Baniel Method Training Programs since their inception in 2001 and became a trainer in the method in 2005. In her private practice she specializes in working with children. Trained and educated as a musician, Marcy has taught world-famous singers who now sing at the Metropolitan Opera and on Broadway. She brings her knowledge and skill in teaching breathing and voice to the Anat Baniel Method.
Marcy has private studios in both Manhattan and Chicago, and works privately with children out of the Anat Baniel Method Center a few times a year. She co-teaches the Anat Baniel Method Trainings and Continuing Education Programs with Anat at the Anat Baniel Method Center in San Rafael, California. Marcy is in charge of the Trainer Training Program.
Carla Oswald Reed – Trainer
Carla Oswald Reed has been a physical therapist with a special interest in pediatrics since 1969. She graduated in 1983 from the Amherst Feldenkrais Professional Training Program begun by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. She has studied with Anat Baniel off and on throughout her Feldenkrais career.
Since becoming an Anat Baniel Method Practitioner in 2003, she has assisted with the Anat Baniel Method Professional Trainings. She currently maintains a private practice in northern Virginia and provides ABM for approximately 30 infants and children per week in part-time employment with an outpatient pediatric physical therapy center.
Lara Gillease – Trainer
Lara Gillease has been a trainer in the Anat Baniel Method Training programs since 2014. She is also on staff at the Anat Baniel Method Center as one of the ABM Center’s team of practitioners as visiting faculty. She has been an Anat Baniel Method Practitioner since 2000.
Lara works with children with special needs and adults in her practice in Asheville, North Carolina. She came to the Anat Baniel Method from the dance world and overcame chronic, debilitating back pain. She is also a Pilates teacher. Lara completed the Anat Baniel Method Training from 1996-2000. She also completed the Children’s Mastery, Vitality & Anti-Aging, and High Performers Trainings with Anat Baniel. She has been working and assisting in the Anat Baniel Method Training Programs for adults and special needs children since 2011.
Carole Keefe – Assistant Trainer
Carole Keefe began studying with Anat Baniel in 2007 and was certified as an Anat Baniel Method Practitioner in 2009. She continued her training, completing Mastery level certifications in the Anat Baniel Method for Children, Vitality and Anti-Aging, and High Performers.
Carole has served as support staff in the professional trainings since 2009 and became an assistant in the trainings in 2013. Carole also has a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. Carole has a private practice in Austin, Texas, where she sees infants, children, and adults.
Chris Krzyzkowski – Assistant Trainer
In 1998, Chris Krzyzkowski graduated from Ithaca College with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy and started his career at the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY, as a member of the stroke team focusing on neurologic recovery. In 2002, Chris relocated to California to study at the internationally known Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo. This center is home to the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Post-Graduate Training Program where he became a staff member and later, an international instructor in PNF.
Always looking to discover new ways to provide better outcomes for his patients, Chris discovered the Anat Baniel Method (ABM) in 2008. He was inspired by the combination of the transformative practical application of neuroplasticity and the amazing results with a wide variety of people. Chris completed the ABM Professional Training in 2011 and Children’s Mastery Training in 2012. He now works at the ABM Center, focusing on children with special needs. He maintains a passion for and also continues to work with adult stroke survivors.
Deb Loest Deppe – Trainer
Deb Loest Deppe was a student in the original ABM Professional Training Program, graduating from this program in 2003 and the Mastery Trainings in 2004. She has assisted in the ABM Training Programs since 2004, becoming an ABM Assistant Trainer in 2011 and an ABM Trainer in 2014. She has a passion for supporting ABM students and practitioners in their overall success and learning.
Deb has a full-time private practice in Humboldt County, California, giving ABM lessons to clients from around the country. She applies the Nine Essentials and principles of NeuroMovement® in her work with infants, children, and adults in all areas, including dynamic movement, sports injuries, torticollis, speech, swallowing, latch-suck issues, breathing, and communication. Deb has been a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist since 1987 specializing in feeding, swallowing, speech, breathing, and communication. In addition, she performs Pediatric Modified Barium Swallow Studies at a local hospital.
Neil Sharp – Trainer
Neil Sharp began studying with Anat Baniel in 2004 and moved to the U.S. in 2007 to work as an ABM Practitioner at the ABM Center in San Rafael, California, where he is also the Research Coordinator.
Neil trained and qualified as an M.D. at Cambridge University and Edinburgh University Medical School. He worked in the United Kingdom as a doctor before leaving medicine to pursue a career in music as an opera singer, musical director, and violinist. Neil lives in San Francisco, California.
Naomi Swanson – Assistant Trainer
Naomi Swanson first began studying with Anat Baniel in 1994 and graduated from her Feldenkrais Training Program in 1997. Since then Naomi has continued studying with Anat Baniel and completed Mastery level certifications in the Anat Baniel Method for Children, Anat Baniel Method for Anti-Aging and Vitality, and the Anat Baniel Method for High Performers.
Naomi has a full-time ABM practice near Seattle, Washington, working with babies and children with special needs, and is expanding her practice to British Columbia. Naomi holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker, and has experience with diverse families and children in a number of therapeutic and educational settings.
Sharon Tomsky – Trainer
Sharon Tomsky began studying the Anat Baniel Method in 2000 and was certified as an ABM practitioner in 2003. After completing the Mastery Trainings in 2004, she was certified as a practitioner of the Anat Baniel Method for Children, Vitality and Anti-Aging, and High Performers. Sharon began assisting and teaching in the ABM Professional Trainings and Mastery Trainings in 2004. She became an ABM Trainer in 2014.
Sharon maintains a private practice in ABM working with adults and children with special needs in Richmond, California, and teaches TML classes in Berkeley. She has also worked as an Occupational Therapist since earning her M.A. in OT from USC in 1994. Sharon graduated from UC-Berkeley with a B.A. in Dance in 1976 and from SF State University with an M.A. in Creative Arts – Interdisciplinary Studies in 1982. She has performed and taught dance, creative movement, and Contact Improvisation since the 1970’s. Sharon is committed to lifelong learning and optimal vitality for all those she works with.
Michelle Vine – Assistant Trainer
Michelle Vine began studying with Anat Baniel in 1996 in Chicago, Illinois, after earning a physical therapy degree in 1994 from Marquette University. She graduated from Anat’s Chicago Feldenkrais Professional Training Program in 2000. She completed the ABM Children’s Mastery program in 2006, and ABM Vitality and Anti-Aging and High Performer’s Mastery programs in 2008. She completed and supported the ABM Practitioner Training Program in 2011 and began assisting with trainings in 2013.
Michelle has a private practice working with children with special needs and provides workshops for specialty groups including parents and caregivers of children with special needs, horse riders, medical professionals, and other special interest groups. She also works part-time as a physical therapist in a hospital-based outpatient department in Green Bay, WI, offering private movement lessons to people across the lifespan and teaching Transformational Movement Lessons to the community.
